GO AND DISCOVER SKYRUNNING
Nicknamed "the SkyRace's little sister", the SkyTrail Matheysin is a real introduction to skyrunning. The race was created in 2020 with the aim of introducing as many people as possible to this sport.
PREPARING YOUR RACE
Here you'll find all the information you need to prepare your race.
Need more information? Don't hesitate to contact us.
THE COURSE
It's a crossing course (not a loop). It is the last 19 km of the SkyTour route.
There will be some steep sections where it's a good idea to use poles. But you'll need to store them in the technical sections to be able to hold the fixed ropes.
We recommend to wear gloves when holding the ropes or putting your hands in the snow.
VERTICAL PROFILE
Please note that the altimetric profile of the course is not printed on the bib.
But it's quite simple, either it goes up or down ;)
MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
There is nearly no mandatory equipment, which means that some runner will be able to go very fast.
Depending on how long you think you'll spend on the course, don't hesitate to take some equipment/energy reserves.
BUS TO THE START
The SkyTrail route is not a loop but a crossing. To get to the start, we are organising a shuttle bus for runners only. You must reserve your place when you register for the race. The shuttles will leave for the start of the race at 11.00am (25-minute drive, and the race starts at 12.30 PM).
DEPARTURE TIME
The start will be given from Lavaldens on Saturday 19th April 2025 at 12.30 PM.
Shuttles will be available from the race place to Lavaldens.
AID STATION
1 aid station will be set up in the middle of the route at the Cabane du Poyet.
You will find: water, sparkling water and cola, dried fruit, fresh oranges and bananas, ‘Tuc’-type salted biscuits, salt sachets, local charcuterie and cheese.
It is possible to have your own assistance, but only in the official aid station zones, otherwise you could be disqualified.
> See rules for the position of the aid station.
